POP Peeper Pro is a premium version that has all of POP Peeper’s core functionality and adds advanced features such as Message searching, AntiJunk, rules, Spell checking and much more. Voice Notification announces the subject and sender of your new messages (Plus Pack).

Packet Peeper A network protocol analyzer for Mac OS X. Its features include TCP stream reassembly, privilege separation, simultaneous capture sessions, filters, Python plugins, and support for pcap capture files.
POP Peeper also implements standard security measures including SSL/TLS and OAuth2 (Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook). Many notification options are available to indicate when new email has arrived, such as sound alerts (configurable for each account), skinnable popup notifier, voice notification and more. There's also Cocoa Packet Analyzer, which appears to have a nifty plugin framework for extending its capabilities, but I've never used it. Not quite as robust as Wireshark (but what is really).

POP Peeper can be run from a portable device and can be password protected. Packet Peeper is a free, native OS X application for packet sniffing. POP Peeper allows you to view messages using HTML or you can choose to safely view all messages in rich or plain text. A powerful AntiJunk system will clean up your inbox so you won’t be distracted by new email only to discover that it’s spam. Send email directly from POP Peeper with spell checking and use the address book to email your frequently used contacts. POP Peeper is an email notifier that runs in your Windows taskbar and alerts you when you have new email on any of your accounts.
